Nydia Preede b. 1926

Nydia Preede received a Fine & Applied Diploma from the Arts Student League, The School of Visual Arts, Columbia University. In 1962 she received a B.A. in Psychology and received an MA in teaching in 1973 from from Monmouth College. She is a certified teacher of art in secondary education and adult levels.

Preede's work reflects her background in psychology, fine art, applied and technical art. She uses traditional and innovative techniques and media to explore contemporary concepts with realism or symbolism and abstraction, often in a series.

Ms. Preede’s work has been exhibited in NYC, Montreal, Paris, Barcelona, Tokyo and Montserrat, to name a few.  Awards include Jameson Landscape Award, Top 50 National Forest Stamp Program, Manhattan Arts Cover Art Competition Award of Excellence. Her work is included in numerous private and public collections.

Over her life-long career as an artists/teacher, Ms. Preede has been a member of Artist Equity, National Education Association, National Association of Women Artists, American Association of University Women, Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, and the American Artists Professional League where she is a valued Advisor.
